HERE IS SOME GOOD ADVICE THAT CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS 1; Make sure you get a contract with all your customers signed how ever small the job is. 2; If you are asked to do extras make sure you write it all down, quote for it and again get your customer to sign for the extra work that is needed. 3; Invoice your customer on your last day of completing works, tell them the day before that you will expect payment the next day and give it to them on the morning you arrive and tell them you need payment before the end of the day, at least you are still on site and have the advantage of seeing there reaction when payment is made. 4; If problems start on a job with your customer make a note and record all problems down so you get a paper trail that will help you if you have to take legal action. I have found that most businesses don't and it is easy to forget all the details so protect yourself and it gives you a better chance. 5; Remember that cash flow is king and you are not a bank giving interest free credit. 6; If your customer is paying by cheque state that you only accept Building Society cheques as you know it will clear when you pay it in to your account. |
